Still Amazing

11 days ago we were told that Bea had a few days or maybe at best a week left. She is still very much here and showing modest improvement every day. She is awake and aware all day. This has been the case for a week. She started smiling on Thanksgiving. Today I held her hand up to her Kindle and she moved enough and pointed her finger to choose her own cartoon to watch. She is trying so very hard to talk. She can often squeeze my hand with her left hand when I ask her.

Assuming she stays this stable or better we are hoping to get her home early this week. It seems highly likely we can do it and we asked Bea if she wants to go home. Her response? A smile and a squeeze.

  2. Hallelujah!!! When doctors say NO, Jesus can still say YES!!! They'd given up my Princess TWICE because of the prognosis of DIPG... she outlived all of their medical predictions! Keep fighting Princess Bea! xoxo

  3. Never, ever give up. NEGU - a little fighter out of California, now a movement for so many children fighting cancer and their families.

This is AMAZING news - it brought joy to my heart. We will continue to pray for miracles for Bea.

  4. Just wanted to let you know we are out here praying and hoping beyond hope?? Nicholas (in Bea's 1st grade class) asks about Bea a LOT so I try to give him what information I can. He was not sure what to pray for the other night, and perhaps none of us know? Do you pray for a miracle? Or Bea's comfort? Do you beg for another day or week or month more? So this news is something we can pray and hope for more of, for sure!
